Acronyms
Acronyms are words that are made up from the first (Initial) letters of other words. We use them for everyday names that are very long.
Here is an example:
CD ROM = Compact Disc Read Only Memory
We use these words all the time and forget what they actually stand for. But CD ROM is an acronym.
